HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania — A newly released prison mug shot appears to show Bill Cosby smiling with a disposable mask hanging off his face.

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections recently updated Cosby’s mug shot, something routinely done to document changes to inmates’ appearance as they age. Cosby’s new photo was taken Sept. 4.

Later in the evening, a blurry picture was tweeted from Cosby’s verified account showing him using what appeared to be a prison telephone, pulling a mask away from his chin as he smiled.

It was accompanied by text that said: “This photo was taken by his publicist, Andrew Wyatt, during his first virtual video conference call with Mr. Cosby last week. We are posting this to reassure his family and supporters that he is doing ok during this pandemic.”

Cosby, 83, was convicted of felony sex assault and is serving a three- to 10-year prison term. An appeals court had upheld his conviction, but the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed this year to review two key issues in the case. The appeal is scheduled to be heard Dec. 1.

Meanwhile, last week, Bell spoke about how she and Shepard, whom she married in 2013 and with whom she shares two daughters, are working through his lapse in sobriety.

The actor and podcast hos, 45, admitted last month that he had relapsed and started using the painkiller Oxycodone after being sober for 16 years following a motorcycle crash in August.

And in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that aired last Wednesday, Bell, who married Shepard in 2013, explained that he had shared with her that he was ‘faltering’ and needed to do some ’emotional work’ to find out why he relapsed.

‘He’s addicted to evolving,’ the star of Frozen told Ellen. ‘He was like, ‘I don’t want to risk this family and I did, so let’s put new things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Three coaches turned quick, with Kelly Clarkson the only holdout. She rued her decision. Clarkson later put her hand up and admitted it ought to have been a four-chair turn.

“I heard power, I heard soul and clarity too,” John Legend later remarked. “I’m always jealous of a true tenor who can hit those high notes, it just sounded easy.”

Gwen Stefani was shocked by what she heard. No, really. “It was shocking,” she recounted, “your voice was so strong and so confident. It sounded like a guy who has made records for ever.”

In the end, Kingsley went with Coach Legend. Watch the performance on NBC below.

Dolly Parton Reduces Stephen Colbert To Tears With Haunting A Cappella Performance – HuffPost

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dolly-parton-stephen-colbert-tears_n_5f8fe3a4c5b62333b240685c

Stephen Colbert struggled to keep it together as country music legend Dolly Parton broke into song during Tuesday night’s “Late Show.”

Parton delivered an a cappella rendition of “Bury Me Beneath The Willow” that had Colbert reaching for the tissues.

“Are you crying?” she asked in the midst of the song, before delivering another verse, then stopping to let Colbert compose himself. “I’d better hush before you cry yourself to death and can’t finish your show.”

Thrown off by his own reaction, Colbert laughed as he cried.

“Like a lot of Americans, I’m under a lot of stress right now, Dolly,” Colbert said through both the laughs and the tears. “You got under my tripwire right there, I’ll tell you right there, that was pretty beautiful.”

After he gathered his wits, Colbert said: “Isn’t it funny that sometimes there’s nothing happier than crying?”

“It cleanses your soul,” Parton said. “I think water is good to wash it out, that’s what tears are for.”

The moment happens about five and a half minutes into the interview:

Parton, 74, has been busier than ever despite the pandemic. She’s released a new album of Christmas tunes called “A Holly Dolly Christmas,” featuring both standards as well as tracks penned by Parton. The Christmas movie “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square,” will debut on Netflix next month. The streaming video service is also currently featuring the documentary, “Dolly Parton: Here I Am.”

To cap it all off, Parton will publish the book “Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics,” which highlights 175 of the more than 3,000 songs she’s written, in November. Parton gave Colbert a preview in the clip above and discussed her favorite songs below:

California Issues Long-Awaited Reopening Guidelines for Disneyland and Other Theme Parks – Motley Fool

https://www.fool.com/investing/2020/10/20/california-issues-long-awaited-reopening-guideline/

Instead of breathing a sigh of relief, Disney (NYSE:DIS) and Comcast‘s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Universal studios are crying foul as California finally issued guidelines for reopening the state’s largest theme parks.

Dr. Mark Ghaly, the state’s secretary of Health and Human Services, issued lengthy reopening protocols that are much more restrictive than those faced by other businesses, meaning Disneyland and Universal Studios theme parks will remain shuttered for a while longer.

The reopening guidelines state that larger parks will only be allowed to open in counties that have reached Tier 4, where danger of spreading the disease is “minimal,” the least restrictive of the state’s reopening guidelines. Smaller parks will be permitted to open in Tier 3, the “moderate” tier. For context, Tier 1 indicates the virus is widespread in a given county, while Tier 2 indicates “substantial” spread. Orange County, home to Disneyland is currently in Tier 2, while Los Angeles County, which houses Universal Studios, is in Tier 1.

Once the theme parks are allowed to reopen, they will still face restrictions. All parks will be required to implement advance ticket sales to allow for contact tracing, and attendance will be limited to 25% of capacity. The wearing of face coverings will be mandatory for all guests, except those eating and drinking in specifically designated areas, and physical distancing measures will be required.

Representatives of both Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios fired back at the tier system restrictions, calling them “arbitrary guidelines” that are “irreparably devastating.”

“We have proven that we can responsibly reopen, with science-based health and safety protocols strictly enforced at our theme park properties around the world,” said Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock, citing successful reopenings in Florida and elsewhere.

Karen Irwin, President & COO of Universal Studios Hollywood, echoed those thoughts, saying “Pushing us into Tier Four behind other businesses that have already reopened makes no sense,” she said.

Beastie Boys Licensed “Sabotage” For Use In Joe Biden Campaign Ad – Deadline

https://deadline.com/2020/10/beastie-boys-sabotage-joe-biden-campaign-ad-1234600926/

The Beastie boys, for one of the only times ever in the hip-hop group’s history, has granted permission for a political advertisement to use one of their songs. Over the weekend an ad for presidential candidate Joe Biden featured the Beastie Boy’s edgy 1994 hit “Sabotage.”

The political commercial made its debut during Sunday night’s NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. The ad zeroes in on the negative effects the COIVD-19 pandemic has had on live music venues, centering on the Blind Pig club in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“Sabotage,” has been used in permission for a “Star Trek” trailer and the video game “Destiny 2,” but never for advertising purposes until the Biden ad. Late Beastie Boys member Adam “MCA” Yauch  stated in his will that he wants no music from the band to be used in advertising.
